Sometimes in life you have to put in that extra effort of help and that we did yesterday. Animal Outreaches and AACL in a combined effort to ease the pain of the people and animals of Missionvale Township after the flooding did that, with trucks full of dog food-blankets-juice-fruit-chocolate-clothes-bedding.

It was nice to see people smiling again, the dogs and cats had full tummies and plenty food left for them for a good few days.

Township shack life is very hard on people and animals and you cant fight the elements so when you lose what little you have its sad.

The volunteers – so much passion in trying to make a difference to the lives of our township animals.

To all of you who donated we all thank you this is your outreach.
The photos tell the story
Take care

In a time of disaster, it is absolutely amazing how people will pull together to help those in distress. My humble thanks to my wonderful team from Animal Anti-Cruelty League and to Mike and his team from Animal Outreaches, who once again gave up of their family time to spend a day with those poor people and animals of Missionvale. For all concerned, the recipients and the givers – it must have been so spiritually rewarding. Literally vans full of animal food, blankets, juice, fruit, clothing and the smile-provoking Cadbury’s chocolates were distributed in a matter of hours.

To Bev and Patsy, our fieldworkers who have been out there for three days now, thank you. You are an absolute shining example to your community. Steph and Chanel – your generous donations have helped us to distribute in excess of 1300kg of animal food over the last three days, as well as blankets to every animal in sight. A generous Port Elizabeth public ensured that every home will have some warmth. All those involved said that the biggest reward was to witness the uplifted spirits of both humans and animals alike, when shown that someone cared.
Once again, it is this incredible network of animal-loving and aware people that has made this possible.
Thank you. You truly have made a difference for those who cannot speak for themselves and for those whose voices are lost in the wilderness. We will continue to distribute any further donations, as we still have stock coming in at the centre and at our Bargain Box – so the smiles will continue.
A huge three cheers to all!
Kind regards and thanks
