Hope for Homeless Animals

A Light in the Darkness for Homeless Animals in South Africa

Animal Welfare starts next door…

Jenny Forest sent me an email in March in which she asked if I could help, since Wet Nose, contrary to their policy historically of sterilising animals when people could not afford it, and even feeding their animals when they ran into hard times, were not responding to her emails:

“Can you help. I did approach Wet Nose but not having any luck. I have a neighbour with 5 animals and no money. The husband has lost his job and they nave two children. They have three carts that I feed on the quiet and then two Jack Russells. My query is about the female dog. She is so over bred and is having pups twice a year, There is no extra nutrition or injection, etc. given”

Cilla Trexler, a long-time Hopeful member, entered the scene, and after lots of juggling by Cilla and Jenny, I received this resolution from Jenny:

“Just wanted to send you a photos of Mila. She is now spayed and there will be no more pups. The Jacaranda Animal Hospital are just the best.

Because she was on heat I had to keep her for 10 days which proved quite a mission as we have another jealous dog. But with effort an planning it all worked out. She slept in our bed for those ten days and quickly leant to cuddle up for the night between us.

But now she is back home and was very happy to be see her mate Buksi and the family. I made her a blanket to take home and also sent food along with her.-

Thanks for your interest.

Regards

Jenny

So happy I did this for her”

So are we, Jenny. Now if only all the people and animals battling along had neighbours like you…

I wish my Vet could offer me discount for all the dogs that I take to him for treatment and sterilization. I too pick up dogs from the streets. He did tell me that I am the reason why he can afford to take overseas holidays. Those people who are cruel to animals are a very low quality of human breed. They should be sterilized!
